About The Position

In a maintenance capacity, work with operations to ensure the minimization of downtime on packaging lines, facilities, blending equipment and warehousing. Work with engineering to optimize the efficiency and capability of packaging lines, facilities, blending equipment and warehousing. Report to the Maintenance Manager as to issues, priorities, part requirements, labor requirements and scheduling of tasks. Ensure all tasks are completed safely in compliance with all relevant safety codes and regulations. Work individually or with other maintenance staff (including mechanics, electricians and engineers) on breakdowns, preventative maintenance tasks and/or projects to enhance production efficiency and capability. Work individually or within the maintenance department to ensure production machines are maintained in accordance with manufacturer's instructions and site based procedures. Document all work completed and all further work required in accordance with cGMP, both electronically and written. Troubleshoot issues relating to the failure of mechanical/pneumatic components such as pumps/gearboxes/camshafts/bearings/drive chains/cylinders/air motors and replace/service parts as necessary. Generate work orders on Work Order based software to track and comply with requests, as well as document the parts required, and the work completed. Interface with outside contractors and all internal departments Ability to research and coordinate the purchase of required parts and equipment needed to complete the work as outlined in requirements. Use workshop equipment as needed, such as: drill press, shear, band saw, hand power tools, etc. Assist with the engineering department in analyzing processes and implement changes that increase efficiency and cost saving improvements. Complete all training requirements required to ensure knowledge and competency is continuously improved.

Requirements

  • Competent in: Machine layout, movement and adjustment/set up, troubleshooting mechanical system for faults and determining solutions, pneumatic and hydraulic design and implementation, determining and ensuring correct lubrication methods/quantities on mechanical components, designing and implementing modifications of equipment to aide production.
  • Have detailed knowledge on OSHA/MOSH, or be able to find out those regulations, to ensure compliance.
  • Ability to work safely on ladders, elevating work platforms and crawl spaces.
  • Complete, distribute, and file correct forms to purchase, stock and inventory parts.
  • Schematic/blueprint reading.
  • Computer literate, including proficiency in Excel, Word and Outlook.
