About The Position

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for maintaining and repairing company facilities, utilities, and production equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations. This role performs routine preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and capital or improvement projects, with a strong emphasis on stainless steel piping systems, pipe fitting, and welding in a manufacturing environment

Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience in industrial maintenance, including:
  • General mechanical repairs
  • Building and facility maintenance
  • Stainless steel pipe fitting and installation
  • MIG and sanitary TIG welding (stainless steel preferred)
  • Plumbing and industrial piping systems
  • 120V and 480V (3-phase) electrical systems
  • General instrumentation and pneumatic circuits
  • Metal fabrication and general shop work
  • HVAC ductwork, carpentry, masonry, concrete, drywall installation and repair
  • Rigging and safe material handling
  • Experience operating forklifts, scissor lifts, and articulating boom lifts.
  • Familiarity with rental equipment such as concrete saws, grinders, demolition hammers, generators, and air compressors is desirable.
  • Basic computer skills, including email and internet use.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a manufacturing and/or chemical processing environment.
  • Post–high school training or certifications in:
  • Welding (MIG / TIG / sanitary welding preferred)
  • Pneumatics or industrial maintenance trades
  • Knowledge of automation systems and basic process control.

Responsibilities

  • Repair, maintain, and troubleshooting production and facility equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Perform routine and scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) on equipment, utilities, and building systems.
  • Execute facility and building maintenance activities as required.
  • Fabricate, install, and repair stainless steel piping systems, including sanitary and process piping.
  • Perform MIG and sanitary TIG welding, primarily on stainless steel components and piping.
  • Install, modify, and repair piping systems, valves, pumps, fittings, and related mechanical systems.
  • Repair and install electrical and IT-related circuits (120V and 480V, including 3-phase systems).
  • Follow all safety policies, procedures, and best practices, work safely at all times.
  • Install of new equipment, piping, systems, and processes per design
  • Modify existing equipment, buildings, and processes per engineering direction
  • Diagnose equipment issues and determine required spare parts and materials.
  • Use computers and internet resources to access manuals, drawings, spare parts lists, and vendors to support maintenance activities.
  • Operate lift trucks, aerial lifts, and other material-handling equipment safely.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
