TOMRA, an international recycling company is looking to fill the role of Maintenance Mechanic at our Biddeford, ME facility. PAY: $28.00-$30.00/Hr Based on experience Shift: Sunday-Wednesday 4pm-2:30Am Job Description Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on industrial machinery and buildings to include, but not limited to: Conveyors (All types) Power transmission systems (direct, belt, and chain driven) Hydraulic balers Granulators Air compressors and associated systems Docks, doors, and dock levelers

Requirements

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in the field of industrial maintenance is required.

Nice To Haves

  • A.S. Engineering Technology or equivalent or Vocational School training in a related field
  • Welding certification
  • Prior certifications as an operator of material handling equipment (forklifts, telehandlers, loaders, etc.)
  • Experience rigging and moving equipment.
  • Training in electrical safety and/or NFPA 70E
  • Experience maintaining and repairing material handling equipment and powered industrial trucks (forklifts and loaders)

Responsibilities

  • Must be able to repair and/or replace motors, speed reduction/gear boxes, chain drives, rollers, belt lacing and belts utilizing industry standard methods for installation (e.g. alignment and tensioning).
  • Make repairs or replacements to air handling systems utilizing blowers of various types.
  • Must be able to fabricate, repair, and install all types of guarding on material handling equipment at the plant.
  • Must be able to repair building plumbing systems and their components.
  • Must be able to fit, install and repair all type of piping and tubing systems, to include black iron, plastic, brass, copper and rubber piping and tubing systems.
  • Must be able to troubleshoot and replace electric circuits and systems to include but not limited to motors, fuses, circuit breakers, contactors, sensing switches and devices, control wiring, and transformers.
  • Proficient in reading schematics and drawings.
  • Must be able to repair and replace failed lighting circuits and components.
  • Must be able to use chain falls, hoists, forklifts, and tele-handlers to safely rig and move equipment and parts or components for installation or replacement.
  • Must know how to safely strap and use chains to secure equipment or material for lifting.
  • Proficient in the safe and appropriate use of electrical test devices.
