Health, vision, and dental start day one Employee stock discount 401K Match of 5% Job Description: The person hired for the position of Maintenance Mechanic will work at our 3M ROYERSFORD, PA plant site. As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by: Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical, electrical, electronic, and process machine equipment, as well as general building and grounds upkeep—ensuring all work is properly documented. Read and interpret mechanical drawings and use them to troubleshoot issues, support repairs, and assist with equipment installation or relocation. Coordinate with contractors and vendors, supporting company compliance with 3M and OSHA requirements while assisting with on‑site project work. Support emergency response and on‑call needs, including working flexible schedules such as overtime, weekends, and holidays to accommodate plant demands, PMs, and urgent maintenance issues. Maintain tools, work areas, and parts inventory, ensuring the maintenance shop and PM systems are organized and fully supplied to support efficient operations. Assist with facility services, including waste and recycling, safe operation of company vehicles, and completion of other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 3 years of recent maintenance experience in a manufacturing, private, public, government, or military environment.
  • Firsthand technical experience maintaining manufacturing equipment and processes.
  • OSHA 10-hour Construction Safety Certification (or equivalent comprehensive OSHA 10-hour training).
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel and general knowledge of computer systems and MMS.
  • Must achieve a Medium or High score on the Maintenance Selection Test Battery (MSTB).

Nice To Haves

  • 8+ years of related maintenance experience.
  • Strong conceptual and technical problem-solving skills.
  • Experience operating manual machines (lathe, mill, grinder) with machinist capabilities.
  • HVAC experience and understanding of controls and instrumentation.
  • Electrical certification preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and SAP.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and sound judgment.
  • Demonstrated leadership aptitude and understanding of maintenance best practices.
  • Ability to plan and prioritize daily work independently.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a team-oriented approach.
