Seneca Foods in Rochester, MN is currently seeking a 3rd Shift Maintenance Mechanic to join our Freezer Warehouse and Production team. This is an hourly union position, wages start at $29.79. Assigned mechanical job duties to maintain and repair food processing equipment. Completes repairs during the processing season to meet production goals. Overhaul and install plant equipment during non-production periods to be ready for the next scheduled production run.

Requirements

  • Must have good attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong mechanical repair and trouble-shooting skills.
  • Willingness and ability to work and function in a team environment.
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work with all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, troubleshoot, maintain, repair, and replace crop harvesting, vegetable processing, and/or label line equipment to meet specifications and regulations. - Maintenance of other areas as directed.
  • Read sketches and blueprints to determine layout of assigned work.
  • Design, fabricate, weld, and install equipment as required.
  • Monitor equipment operation and make any necessary adjustments.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed and PM completed.
  • Appropriate budget planning and maintenance of cost control over equipment.
  • Employee relations.
  • Ensure that Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), company policies, safety rules, and regulations are being followed and enforced.
  • Other duties as assigned.
