Seneca Foods in Rochester, MN is currently seeking a 3rd Shift Maintenance Mechanic to join our Freezer Warehouse and Production team. This is an hourly union position, wages start at $29.79. Assigned mechanical job duties to maintain and repair food processing equipment. Completes repairs during the processing season to meet production goals. Overhaul and install plant equipment during non-production periods to be ready for the next scheduled production run.

Requirements

Must have good attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong mechanical repair and trouble-shooting skills.
Willingness and ability to work and function in a team environment.
Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
Ability to work with all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

Inspect, troubleshoot, maintain, repair, and replace crop harvesting, vegetable processing, and/or label line equipment to meet specifications and regulations. - Maintenance of other areas as directed.
Read sketches and blueprints to determine layout of assigned work.
Design, fabricate, weld, and install equipment as required.
Monitor equipment operation and make any necessary adjustments.
Maintain accurate records of work performed and PM completed.
Appropriate budget planning and maintenance of cost control over equipment.
Employee relations.
Ensure that Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), company policies, safety rules, and regulations are being followed and enforced.
Other duties as assigned.
