About The Position

The Maintenance Technician is a Team Member who is involved in equipment repair and preventive maintenance to prevent downtime of machinery consistent with company goals, business unit Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) to include safety, quality, efficiency, productivity, and customer service. The Maintenance Technician will be expected to maintain a good level of communication with other departments (Quality, Warehouse, Production, etc...) and ensure production priorities and shortfalls are addressed in a timely fashion.

  • Minimum 3 Years Industrial Maintenance Experience Required
  • Must Be Able To Bend, Stoop, Or Be In Awkward For Extended Periods Of Time
  • Must Be Able To Stand On Concrete Floors For Long Periods Of Time
  • Must Be Able To Work Overtime, Weekends, And Holidays

Nice To Haves

  • 2 Yrs. Technical School or Associates Degree Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Functions as a member of the shift Maintenance Team and rapidly responds to equipment related problems.
  • Applies maintenance troubleshooting skills in a wide variety of machine applications in response to production requirements (VFDs, Electrical Controls, Power Distribution Systems, Hydraulic and Pneumatic Systems, HVAC, etc..).
  • Communicates information to Maintenance Manager and Production Manger regarding technical issues, equipment problems, and continuous improvement ideas.
  • Documents equipment repairs/findings onto work orders for input into Maintenance Management System (MMS).
  • Performs Preventative Maintenance (PM's), inspections and/or repair of equipment during shutdowns which may require weekend work and/or shift reassignment in response to production requirements.
  • Supports the installation and start-up of new equipment.
  • Performs welding and machine shop tasks related to repair of equipment and machinery.
  • Works with equipment vendors or technical representatives on re-builds, service visits and equipment training to reduce downtime.
  • Troubleshoots control wiring, relay logic, motor drive circuits, control system devices, photo eyes, limit switches, proximity switches, and transducers.
  • Utilizes Digital Volt Meter, Mega OHM Meter and AMP probes to diagnose electrical problems.
  • Preform Machine Adjustments as needed in support of production.
  • Assist In Product Change Overs as required in support of production.
  • Must Be Able To Read A Multi Meter
  • Must Be Able Read And Understand Technical Manuals
  • Must Be Able To Electrical Prints
  • Must Be Able To Read Hydraulic Prints
  • Must Be Able To Read Pneumatic Prints
  • Must Be Able To Read Micrometer, Calipers, And Tape Measure In Both Metric And Standard
  • Experience With AC/DC Control Circuits 120 VAC/ 24VDC
  • Experience With Power Distributions Systems 480/277 VAC
  • Responsible to report food safety and quality concerns to Supervision, Quality or Senior Management. Support the SQF system through adherence to plant policies and procedures
