About The Position

The Maintenance Mechanic is a highly skilled worker who maintains and repairs machinery in a plant or factory environment. The Maintenance Technician must be able to detect minor problems and correct them before they become major by using Preventive Maintenance techniques. Technical manuals, electrical diagrams, and special diagnostic equipment are also used to discover the cause of specific malfunctions. Requirements

  • Minimum 2-4 years work experience in a maintenance environment.
  • Must have good attention to detail.
  • Ability to understand verbal and written instructions.
  • Good communications skills both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced maintenance environment.
  • Knowledge of industrial tools and test equipment.
  • Proven ability to repair industrial maintenance components such as motors, pumps, gearboxes, belt and chain driven components, etc.
  • Basic knowledge and comprehension of PLC troubleshooting.
  • Ability to work overtime with little notice and be on-call before/after normal business hours.
  • Should have a working knowledge of the following: Welding, Machining, Plumbing, Pipefitting, Electricity.
  • Must be able to speak, read, and write English.
  • Must be able to work independently with minimum supervision.
  • Must be able to work at heights from ladders or scissor lifts.
  • Should be able to understand blueprints and drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Respond and react to mechanical issues in the production environment in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Complete maintenance projects - PM tasks and work orders as assigned.
  • Read electrical schematics and mechanical diagrams.
  • Write parts requests, complete work orders, and write corrective work orders.
  • Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
  • Keep a clean work area.
  • Perform building inspections and routines.
  • Communicate with other team members.
  • Perform Lock-Out-Tag-Out when necessary
