Requirements

  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED
  • Ability to read and write and do simple arithmetic.
  • Working knowledge of mechanics
  • Ability to read blueprints and sketches
  • Knowledge of pipe fitting, electrical wiring, and general mechanics
  • Must be familiar and thoroughly experienced in all facets of maintenance: mechanical 1, electrical 2, building 3 and vehicle repaires 4.
  • Mechanical Pumps (positive displacement and centrifugal), drives (gearbox, belt, chain, hydraulic, couplings, motor-electric, motors-air, bearings, shafts, nuts, bolts, taps and dies.
  • Electrical High voltage 460-volt 3 phase, motor controls, low voltage (120V power and control wiring), AC and DC systems. Computer controlled systems.
  • Utilities Piping (water, air and steam) Boilers - understand Steam condensate system - tracing, coils, traps and pumps. Air Compressor system - including filters, regulators, dryers and lubricators. HVAC - air handling, blowers, dust collectors.
  • Vehicles Lift trucks - electric EE rated, battery and hydraulics.
  • ALL CANDIDATES MUST TAKE A MAINTENANCE TEST

Responsibilities

  • Performs routine, emergency and preventive maintenance work on office and plant equipment, machines and building facilities.
  • Assist in maintaining plant security.
  • Maintain equipment and tools.
  • Dispose of waste materials, empty containers, and piece drums accordingly
  • Calibrate equipment as needed/required.
  • Keep work areas clean.
  • Can perform up to 60% of procedures within department.
