POSITION SUMMARY: Maintain facility, utilities, and production equipment from a mechanical standpoint to meet the requirements of the operation. Vernon facility. May help at Colton facility as needed.

Requirements

Excellent organization and time management skills.
Must be a self-starter and be able to accomplish a versatile and evolving workload.
Excellent in all forms of communication.
Innovative, problem solver, flexible, and able to juggle multiple priorities.
Self-motivated, with the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and adapt well to change.
High school diploma or GED.
Minimum 5 years experience as a maintenance mechanic in the food processing industry.
Must be able to troubleshoot and repair production equipment.
Must have available and be proficient with mechanics tools and a vom.
Must be able to read mechanical diagrams and identify vendor parts numbers.
Must be able to look up misc. parts in catalogs or through the internet and create reqs.
Must to be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Must be available to work any shift including weekends.
Must be agreeable to occasional call in emergency repair work.

Nice To Haves

Technical course completion beneficial.
Trade-school/education may be considered in place of work experience.
Electrical training with 2 years experience preferred.
Experience in some type of leadership role is beneficial.
Experience with basic machining with mill and lathe preferred.
Experience with fabrication and welding preferred.

Responsibilities

Work safely in a team environment as a service unit to operations.
Troubleshoot / repair mechanical and basic electrical issues with production equipment.
Perform changeover and set-up of production equipment.
Use a CMMS application to process work orders and perform preventative maintenance.
Assist on equipment installations within the plant structure.
Follows J&J Snack Food’s Food Safety Plan (FSP), the Safe Quality Food (SQF) Program, the Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and the Good Documentation Practices (GDPs).
Follows all OSHA safety rules and all food safety laws and regulations.
Perform other assigned duties.
