This position is responsible for all work relating to all types of trades, such as maintenance, plumbing, carpentry, welding, preventive maintenance and equipment repair. Performs skilled and unskilled work for several crafts. Part of the emergency response team and snow removal. Performs duties and responsibilities at locations separated from JFK Medical Center as necessary and all other duties as required.

Requirements

• High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), GED equivalent programs, and/or other Vocational degrees/certificates.
• Minimum of 3 years experience in the maintenance mechanic field or on the job training at JFK Medical Center.

Responsibilities

• Completes logs and test records as required. Uses the computer system to open and close work orders. Complete all work orders including time, date name and material.
• Repairs, tests and installs pumps, motors, conveyor systems, plumbing systems, power plant equipment, kitchen equipment and sterilizers. Performs routine duties such as burned out light bulbs, clogged toilets, repair walls and floors/ceiling tile replacement and plumbing leaks.
• Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
• Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
