About The Position

Holly Poultry is seeking a skilled and dependable Maintenance Mechanic to join our operations team. The Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a variety of production and facility equipment to ensure optimal operation and minimal downtime in a fast-paced poultry processing environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical training or trade certification a plus.
  • Minimum 2 years of industrial maintenance experience, preferably in food or poultry processing.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose and repair equipment.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems, PLCs, conveyors, pumps, and motors.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics.
  • Basic computer skills for maintenance logs and inventory management.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs, work in cold/wet environments, and stand for extended periods.
  • Willingness to work occasional overtime or respond to emergencies.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in mechanical field in an industrial or manufacturing setting is preferred.
  • Ability to work in varying temperature conditions.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
  • Ability to adjust quickly to changing demands.
  • Must be able to work with limited supervision.
  • Must be able to cover other days and weekends as needed.
  • Must be able to climb ladders and do work on aerial work platforms as needed.
  • Must be able to work 12 hour days to equate a 3 1/2 day work week.
  • Must be able to work additional days as needed.
  • Candidates must successfully pass post-offer/pre-employment drug test, and background screen.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate Degree or equivalent experience in a related field is preferred.
  • Experience in food manufacturing or process is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on processing equipment and facility systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and minimize production disruptions.
  • Inspect machinery and mechanical equipment to diagnose issues or detect irregularities.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete work orders using the CMMS system.
  • Assist in the installation of new equipment and modifications to existing systems.
  • Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Communicate effectively with production personnel and other team members.
  • Support plant sanitation efforts as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with USDA, FDA, OSHA, and company safety and sanitation standards.
