The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for setting up repairs, rebuilding and installing production equipment to insure continuous production of all products. Repairs malfunctioning production equipment; i.e., fillers, conveyors, drives, coolers, palletizing and boxing components. Installs new equipment or replaces equipment as required and sets up line for product changeovers as required. The maintenance Mechanic's is to be the primary technical leader on the shift responsible for all planned maintenance, trouble-shooting, and reducing downtime due to equipment failure. Assists with the training of operators to recognize and report potential equipment malfunctions and failures as well as to ensure knowledge and assist with preventive maintenance. The role requires a person that can analyze mechanical and operational problems and initiate plans for corrective action. Make necessary corrective repairs and running adjustments to maintain maximum production, safety and quality with experience troubleshooting, repairing, and rebuilding equipment such as mechanical drives, pneumatics, pumps, valves, and conveyors. Machining and fabrication skills are necessary. Previous experience with TPM or Lean Manufacturing a plus. Working knowledge of computers required.
