About The Position

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for repairing, maintaining, and supporting all plant equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous operations within a food manufacturing environment. This role plays a critical part in minimizing downtime, supporting production, and maintaining equipment reliability. This position requires a hands-on technician who can troubleshoot issues quickly, multitask effectively, and maintain a strong sense of urgency in a fast-paced production setting.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2–5 years of maintenance experience (food manufacturing preferred)
  • Experience with PLCs, VFD drives, and electrical troubleshooting preferred
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to read technical documents
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • Strong communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and equipment-related issues
  • Perform preventive maintenance (PM) on machinery and equipment
  • Troubleshoot PLC systems, VFD drives, and instrumentation
  • Install, assemble, and test new equipment
  • Read and interpret blueprints and schematics
  • Maintain maintenance records and work orders
  • Order and track parts and materials
  • Support production during startups and changeovers
  • Follow all safety procedures including LOTO and Cal/OSHA standards
  • Identify issues proactively and recommend solutions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Perform other duties as assigned
