About The Position

Maintenance Mechanic We are currently looking for a Maintenance Mechanic to join our team in Dayton, NJ. Maintenance Mechanics have a broad knowledge of plumbing, pumps, motors, and general facility repairs and possess a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing or laboratory/education environment. Maintenance Mechanics must have strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to react to issues and emergencies. The person in this position should also be comfortable inspecting the work of the contractors and directing any improvements in services. You Will Spend Your Time... Conducting scheduled facility preventative Maintenance tasks, unscheduled and scheduled repairs, and project support Examining and evaluating mechanical/electrical equipment and systems to detect malfunctions and execute repairs for the same Processing documentation, including work order completion and parts identification for reordering Identifying replacement parts and communicate needs to the Supervisor Performing post-repair tests and documents results Reacting to emergency situations and involving the Supervisor when appropriate Complying with all company regulations governing Safety and Environmental Compliance Participating in recurring training and safety meetings About Us... Requirements

  • Must have the ability to work with minimal supervision and handle unexpected situations
  • Strong communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs
  • Ability to stand for 8 hours per day
  • Preferred High School diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Maintenance Mechanic in a manufacturing production plant
  • Experience with Maintenance and Repair duties including the adjustment and alignment of pumps, fluid machinery, valves, pneumatic systems, steam systems, solid material processing and handling equipment, filling and packaging machinery
  • Experience with basic welding, shop machinery, and portable power tools
  • Trained in confined space entry, hot work, line breaking, LOTO, and lift truck operation

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred NJ Boiler Operator’s License (Low Pressure), OSHA 10 and/or formal emergency response

Responsibilities
