About The Position

Overview: We are currently seeking a motivated 2nd Shift Maintenance Mechanic to support our Production Facility in Madison, Wisconsin. Requirements

This role is physically demanding, often requiring the ability to lift heavy objects, work in various positions (crouching, climbing, standing for long periods), and use a wide array of hand and power tools
Strong mechanical aptitude and technical knowledge
Experience working in an industrial/manufacturing environment
Problem-solving and diagnostic skills
Communication and team collaboration skills

Responsibilities

Preventative Maintenance: Performing routine, scheduled maintenance on a variety of equipment (presses, mills, ovens, shears, pleaters, motors, conveyor systems etc.) to prevent breakdowns and extend asset lifespan
Lubricating parts, checking fluid levels, and replacing filters
Troubleshooting and Repair: Diagnosing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic problems using observation, technical manuals, and precision diagnostic tools
Once identified, repair/replace defective/applicable parts
Installation and Assembly: Assisting with the installation, assembly, and testing of new machinery and systems to ensure they function correctly before deployment
Safety and Compliance: Adhering to all safety protocols and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations
This will include conducting safety checks and training others on proper equipment usage
Documentation and Inventory Management: Maintaining accurate records of all maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs
Utilizing Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
Management and monitoring of spare parts and supplies inventory
Emergency Response: Responding promptly to urgent repair requests and equipment failures to minimize operational downtime
