Requirements

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience within the mechanical field; working with boilers, air compressors, air handling units and HVAC is a plus.
  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
  • Technical training or electrical/mechanical technician degree, or verifiable comparable experience.
  • Must be able to operate forklifts and pallet jacks (electric/manual).
  • Ability to read and interpret work orders, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to fill out routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively and convey information to other employees.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Must be able to stand to open files and operate office equipment or mechanical equipment; mobility between departments or physical locations, and attend meetings of coworkers and management.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 55 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
  • With other mechanics may have to occasionally lift parts in excess of 100 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Nice To Haves

  • Food manufacturing background is a plus.
  • Experience with programmable logic controller, instruments and controls is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks on equipment assigned to you.
  • Perform machine repairs based upon a maintenance call or an assignment in a timely fashion.
  • Troubleshoot support system problems using basic problem solving skills.
  • Complete all standard work orders and preventative maintenance tasks assigned and submit all completed paperwork.
  • Record information in required logbooks for systems history and continuous improvement.
  • Record any parts/components used for repairs to ensure replenishment of On-Hand balances are maintained, Ensure quality standards set by the company are adhered to after PM’s and/or repairs are made to equipment.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the areas you are working in; properly dispose of the parts/components you have replaced.
  • Promote a safe and harmonious work environment with adherence to company policy, procedures, safety and health regulations.
  • Maintain compliance with S.Q.F. Certification.
  • Perform and carry out other duties and tasks, as assigned by supervisor.
