About The Position

Position Overview: The Maintenance Mechanic supports the plant departments by responding in a timely manner to service and/or repair plant equipment and facility. The Reed City Plant operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Reasons you will LOVE working here: Our #1 Priority is Human and Food Safety! Shift Information: · 2nd Shift (3pm to 11pm) · Crew will be determined prior to start date · Shift is scheduled for 40 hours (5-day work week) · Ability and willingness to work overtime, any shift, including days, nights, weekends and for emergency events

Requirements

3 years of experience in manufacturing maintenance or related experience
Experience with PLC
Working knowledge and demonstrated skills in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of piping systems
Working knowledge and demonstrated skills in arc welding, gas welding and solder practices
Mechanical, math, troubleshooting and problem-solving and basic computer skills
Effective written and oral communication skills
Proficiency in basic computer skills
Must be able to lift, move, push, pull 50lbs on a regular basis
Must be able to perform physical tasks for extended periods of time, including standing, walking, climbing, bending, squatting, pushing, pulling and twisting over surfaces
Willing and able to work any shift schedule, including nights and weekends, daily overtime or overtime outside of your regular scheduled hours as required (more than 40 hours per week)
Ability to wear protective clothing and equipment such as safety shoes, face masks, safety glasses, hearing protection, hard hat/bump cap, hair/beard net and gloves when required
Ability to work in hot, cold, noisy, dusty, wet environmental working conditions
Ability to climb and/or work at heights while utilizing stairs, ladders, personnel lifts, or platforms
Ability to work with allergens that might be present in a food environment
Ability to work around industrial high-speed moving machinery
Willing and able to adhere to all grooming requirements necessary for a food manufacturing environment

Nice To Haves

Experience in welding
Experience in Vertical Mill
Experience in Lathe machining

Responsibilities

Follow all company safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment
Install, maintain, trouble-shoot, and repair industrial yogurt processing and packaging machinery, work tools and equipment
Provide technical support and plant leadership for equipment troubleshooting and equipment modifications
Perform both uptime and down time preventative maintenance in adherence to the master PM schedule
Perform corrective maintenance work order
Repair and maintain building utilities
Ability to learn and perform minor machining and welding tasks
Design and layout circuits, install fixtures, wiring conduits, motors, and other electrical equipment/components
Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives to increase platform performance
Assist with training new employees as needed
Attend meetings and trainings as required
Perform additional related tasks as assigned
