Maintenance Mechanic – JLL What this job involves: Join JLL's facilities management team as a Maintenance Mechanic, where you'll be the backbone of building operations, ensuring optimal performance of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems across our commercial properties. In this hands-on role, you'll deliver exceptional tenant experiences by maintaining safe, functional, and well-operating facilities while supporting JLL's commitment to best-in-class property management services. You'll work collaboratively with our operations team to preserve asset value for our clients while developing your technical skills in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent with 1-3 years of experience in general building maintenance and repair
  • Valid Tennessee driver's license and ability to respond to emergency calls within 45 minutes
  • Basic knowledge and hands-on experience with HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems
  • Physical ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform duties requiring bending, reaching, climbing, and working on various surfaces
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, CMMS software, and smartphone/computer operations with multiple email accounts
  • Strong communication skills and customer service orientation with ability to work independently and as part of a team

Nice To Haves

  • Trade certifications or specialized licenses in HVAC, electrical, or plumbing
  • Experience with commercial building systems and equipment in office or retail environments
  • Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems and work order processes
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and building codes
  • Experience in tenant service delivery and vendor coordination
  • Flexibility for after-hours support and on-call rotation participation

Responsibilities

  • Execute preventive and corrective maintenance work orders using CMMS systems, ensuring timely completion and accurate documentation
  • Perform routine facility rounds and proactive inspections to identify potential issues and maintain optimal building conditions
  • Handle minor repairs across multiple trades including HVAC filter changes, plumbing repairs, electrical lamp replacement, and building finishes
  • Respond to tenant service requests and emergency situations, providing professional customer service and effective communication
  • Collaborate with vendors and contractors during on-site maintenance activities, ensuring work quality and safety compliance
  • Complete specialized tasks including painting, pressure washing, and general maintenance projects as assigned
  • Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols and procedures while working in various building environments
