About The Position

PURVIS Systems is a technology solutions partner that develops, implements and maintains mission-critical solutions for federal and local governments. PURVIS Systems has an immediate opening for a Maintenance Technician to support day-to-day operations on-site at a Government location located in Newport, RI. The day-to-day responsibilities of this role will include: Performing corrective and preventive maintenance on equipment. Supporting transfers of hazardous materials Supporting facility modification and fabrication. Power Bus wiring/installation. Supporting pnuematic and pressurized systems, working with compressors, rotary actuators, and valves. Maintain mechanical piping systems, functioning as a pipe fitter. Maintain plumbing systems, such as water treatment systems, humidifiers, and dehumidifiers. Requirements

  • High School Education or Trade/Technical School.
  • Candidates must have a minimum of 2 to 3 years of maintenance work experience.
  • Worked with various power tools, drills, grinders, chop saws, saws all, and nail guns.
  • Working knowledge of standard Multimeters.
  • Worked within a Production type environment.
  • Familiar with plumbing material, such as coupling, reducing valves, relief valves, etc.
  • Familiar with hydraulic systems and maintenance of hydraulic systems components, such as pumps, valves, actuators, vane pumps, piston pumps, gear pump and hydraulic fluids.
  • General knowledge of electrical/electronic a plus.
  • Must be flexible to work schedule, including shifts and weekends, as needed.
  • This position required the candidate to be able to obtain a government security clearance at the SECRET level.
