The Maintenance Mechanic - 2nd Shift is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of mechanical equipment and systems to ensure continuous and safe manufacturing operations. This role supports preventive maintenance programs, equipment upgrades, and emergency repairs to minimize downtime and ensure optimal equipment performance. This is a full-time position requiring frequent overtime and occasional weekend work, depending on operational needs. Typical schedule is Mon-Fri 2:30pm to 1:00 am.

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment such as furnaces, hydraulic presses, pumps, motors, boilers, and pneumatic systems.
  • Diagnose equipment malfunctions using visual inspections, technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic tools.
  • Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and basic electrical systems.
  • Identify root causes of issues and implement effective corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Assist with the installation, relocation, and modification of machinery and utilities.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and equipment manuals.
  • Perform mechanical rebuilds and modifications of existing equipment as needed.
  • Conduct general facility repairs including plumbing, painting, plastering, and sealing.
  • Maintain utility systems such as compressed air, water supply, and ventilation.
  • Follow lockout/tagout (LOTO), confined space, and other safety protocols.
  • Use appropriate PPE and maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area.
  • Report equipment defects, safety concerns, and incidents to supervisor promptly.
  • Communicate with supervisors and production staff on repair status and scheduling.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and parts used.
  • Ensure documentation aligns with company procedures and quality standards.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 3–5 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing or heavy equipment environment.
  • Proficiency in hydraulic and pneumatic systems, mechanical repairs, and preventive maintenance.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, maintenance manuals, and safety procedures.
  • Forklift certified or willingness to become certified.
  • Experience with hydraulic press maintenance.
  • Basic electrical troubleshooting knowledge.
  • Welding, pipefitting, or fabrication skills.
