As a Mechanical Technician you will install, maintain, and troubleshoot site equipment to provide a safe operation with maximum production availability. The most important aspect will be working safely within a team to accomplish common goals.

  • Work in a safe manner to prevent injury to self or others.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical components of chemical production and packaging processes.
  • Perform preventative maintenance procedures and repairs.
  • Utilize blueprints, schematics, manufacturer specifications and manuals to troubleshoot and repair equipment
  • Knowledge and experience using PCs, software, e-mail, SAP.
  • Recommend changes to existing systems or equipment to improve reliability or accuracy or further optimize the process.
  • Recommend tools, equipment, or methods to improve the safety or timeliness of system repairs.
  • Requires on-call hour coverage to support 24-hour operations, if needed. Shift work may be required.
  • High School diploma or equivalent experience.
  • 5 years maintenance experience in an industrial plant, preferably chemical operations.
  • Capability to perform basic mathematics, including fractions, decimal, and minor algebra.
  • Possess a good working knowledge of Millwright work, Machining, Welding and/or Pipefitting.
  • Knowledge of and experience with all types of drive train equipment (gears, bearings, belts)
  • Capability of using various types of measuring instruments necessary for the job.
  • Must have a good working knowledge of various welding and burning techniques.
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting experience.
  • Prior experience with Preventive and Predictive Maintenance preferred.
  • Rotating Equipment Alignment experience is preferred.
  • Rigging experience is preferred, along with the operation of lifting equipment.
  • Welding certification not required but would be considered a plus.
