This location has been cooking up cereal using ingredients from field to bowl for over 70 years! We are passionate about the products we make, the people we work with and the city we live in. As a Maintenance Mechanic, you’ll help bring cereal to customers by ensuring our production equipment is operating efficiently. You will have the chance to work on a variety of mechanical equipment from production to packaging in the plant, as well as collaborate with operations, safety, and expert maintenance leadership!

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Technical certification/associate degree in mechanical maintenance OR 4 years equivalent experience.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, troubleshooting techniques, and safety practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office and SAP or ERP maintenance systems.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

  • Mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, welding & pipe fitting experience.
  • Ability to fabricate simple parts and perform rigging.
  • Food or drug manufacturing experience aligned to GMP.
  • Ability to identify different lubrication types/specs.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical systems (conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, hydraulics).
  • Troubleshoot mechanical failures and conduct root cause analysis.
  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings and manuals.
  • Document maintenance activities and manage inventory in SAP/SmartFactory.
  • Collaborate with electricians and automation technicians.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, GMP, sanitation, and quality standards.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and maintain a clean work area.
