About The Position

Daytona International Speedway seeks a Maintenance Mechanic to join the DIS Track Maintenance team based in Daytona Beach, Florida. Perform routine preventive maintenance and repair procedures to include lubricating, cleaning, servicing, inspecting, and testing equipment. Support DIS racing events, track rentals and other events as directed. Operate equipment and use tools as directed. Maintain the overall condition of DIS vehicles and other motorized equipment. Basic office systems knowledge including but not limited to computer system & programs, 2-way radios, cellular phone. Microsoft Office suite knowledge preferred (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
• Valid Florida driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Visually inspects, operates and listens to equipment to diagnose malfunctions.
• Dismantles and reassembles engines on vehicles, generators, and other motorized equipment for routine maintenance and repair.
• Changes fluids, lubricates equipment for optimal performance.
• Examines parts for damage or excessive wear; order, receive and install replacement parts.
• Changes and repairs vehicle tires as needed.
• Makes recommendations for repairs to be made by outside vendors.
• Keep records and reports on motorized equipment, repair activities, etc.
• Assists in executing DIS events - major races, track rentals, other events.
• Assemble and disassemble track equipment such as track gates, barricades, portable bleachers, etc.
• Use all types of power tools and large equipment including forklift, front end loader, backhoe, bucket truck.
• Dig ditches or trenches, backfill excavations, compact and level earth to grade specifications using equipment, picks, or shovels.
• Perform light electrical, plumbing, drywall and carpentry repairs.
• Participate in general cleaning, painting, and repair work.
• Other duties as assigned.
