About The Position

The Maintenance Mechanic position at International Paper involves performing preventive maintenance activities, emergency repairs, and ensuring the safety and efficiency of plant operations. The role requires mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, as well as the ability to maintain accurate records and work collaboratively with team members. Candidates must be willing to work various shifts, including weekends and overtime, and will be expected to participate in a comprehensive testing process prior to employment.

Requirements

  • High school degree
  • At least two years of successful mechanical and electrical/electronic troubleshooting and repair experience in a manufacturing facility
  • On-the-job success in safety, attendance and quality of work expected
  • Strong knowledge of lubrication, hydraulics, welding, pneumatics, electrical and electronics technologies
  • Excellent teamwork, cooperation and problem solving skills
  • Willingness to fully cross train in other technical areas to enhance capabilities
  • Able to work any shift, call-ins, holidays, and overtime

Nice To Haves

  • Manufacturing experience in the corrugated industry
  • Maintenance experience in corrugated

Responsibilities

  • Following all safety rules and practices
  • Performing preventive maintenance activities such as lubricating, measuring wear, measuring positions, repositioning components; and observing operations, vibrations, and noise levels
  • Performing emergency / break down maintenance as necessary to support plant operations
  • Accurately using measurement and test equipment
  • Performing electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, steam system, and other repairs and installations as needed
  • Maintaining clean and organized work areas, and cleaning up work areas as part of completing assigned tasks
  • Accurately and completely prepare and maintain maintenance records and other paperwork
  • Trouble-shooting and solving problems
  • Excellent teamwork, cooperation and problem solving skills
  • Willingness to fully cross train in other technical areas to enhance capabilities
  • Able to work with computer system for maintenance processes, stores and work orders
  • Performing other duties as assigned by supervision
