About The Position

Under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor, the 3rd shift Solid Dose Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for preventive maintenance, diagnosis, repair and installation of high-volume automated processing equipment. Also responsible for adhering to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) that are in effect assuring the quality and quantity of products produced. Please note that there is a $2.00 shift premium for working on 3rd shift

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED (technical training or certifications are a plus)
  • 3+ years of work experience in maintenance and repair of manufacturing equipment
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical and operational domains
  • Strong hands-on experience with encapsulation machines, tablet presses, and powder blending equipment
  • Knowledge of servo motors, drives, sensors, HMI systems, electrical and pneumatic systems and associated repairs
  • Familiarity with PLC based equipment (Allen Bradley, Siemens a plus)
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, HMI fault codes, and technical drawings such as mechanical and electrical schematics
  • Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service
  • Physically be able to bend, stoop and squat, stand for long periods of time and lifts up to 50lbs.
  • Flexibility for overtime when needed

Responsibilities

  • Understand the operation, set up, start up, troubleshoot, and repair of solid dose manufacturing equipment, including blenders/mixers, tablet presses and encapsulation machines.
  • Read, understand, and follow job order specifications, engineering drawings, and/or work orders
  • Inspect equipment to maintain functionality and perform preventative maintenance as required, following and executing the preventative maintenance schedule.
  • Install and commission new machinery, as well as modify existing equipment as needed
  • Make any necessary mechanical adjustments to machines to optimize production
  • Repair of manufacturing equipment. This includes problem identification (including interpreting HMI fault codes), referencing technical documentation, assessment of material requirements, requisition placement, and actual repair.
  • Responsible for appropriate documentation and record keeping of interventions, parts used, and maintenance history
  • Provide guidance to machine operator staff on proper use of equipment and minor troubleshooting to reduce downtime
  • Responsible for the use and replacement of change parts
  • Provide clear descriptions of equipment issues to team members in a training manner to eliminate future occurrences.
  • Comply with company policies, SOP, cGMP and OSHA requirements
  • Review and follow safety procedures for all equipment.
  • Maintain workplace organization and cleanliness practices. Ensure work areas are always audit-ready
