About The Position

The Maintenance Mechanic position is responsible for performing general maintenance of buildings and equipment throughout the hospital, medical office buildings, and off-site locations, including limited access areas such as medication rooms. The role involves responding to routine and emergency work orders within an allotted time frame and managing tasks related to emergency systems, including emergency generators, fire alarm systems, heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems, and electrical distribution circuits. The mechanic will also perform ongoing preventive maintenance programs for assigned equipment and must possess problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. The position requires good time management skills and the ability to work well within a team environment, as well as effective communication and interaction skills with staff, physicians, patients, and visitors. The work schedule may vary according to staffing changes and weather conditions, and the mechanic will also assist in training new employees in department functions.
