About The Position
The Maintenance Mechanic position at The Davey Tree Expert Company in New Berlin, WI, is a critical role responsible for overseeing the maintenance, functionality, and repairs of company equipment, tools, and materials. The primary objective of this position is to ensure that all vehicles and equipment are in optimal working condition to support the company's operations. This includes a variety of tasks such as inspecting and repairing office vehicles, which encompass CDL vehicles like bucket trucks, log trucks, and chip trucks, as well as pick-up trucks, aerial lifts, brush chippers, and small engine equipment. The mechanic will also be responsible for properly maintaining, preparing, and operating all tools and equipment, including chainsaws and chippers, to ensure safety and efficiency in the field. In this role, the mechanic will play a vital part in keeping the company’s operations running smoothly by performing regular inspections and repairs. This involves not only mechanical skills but also a commitment to safety and adherence to company policies. The position requires the ability to lift heavy equipment and tools, as well as a valid CDL driver's license. The ideal candidate will have experience in truck mechanical repairs, diesel engines, and hydraulics, and will be expected to complete necessary training such as First Aid, CPR, and defensive driving courses upon hire.
