About The Position

The Maintenance Mechanic is accountable for routine preventative maintenance, impromptu repair, troubleshooting, special rebuild projects and recording data in the maintenance software systems pertaining to tasks performed.

Requirements

  • Driver’s License with an Acceptable Driving Record
  • Ability to Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service to different vehicles/ equipment.
  • Level III: works independently; able to diagnose breakdown problems; shares knowledge with team; patiently trains team members; increased experience handling rebuilds and special projects; extensive troubleshooting; electrical knowledge and back up Lead

Responsibilities

  • Ensures all equipment assigned is serviced and safe for operation such as trucks (pickup, dump, fertilizer, bulk, water, semis), tractors, pilers, sorters, sizers, scoopers, conveyors, gear boxes, sizers/dirt eliminators, and transportation fleet to maintain productivity and asset lifecycle. Types of repairs include but not limited to, routine oil/fluid and tire changes, brake repair and replacements, suspension repair and replacement, fabrication, drivetrains & transmission rebuild including electrical repairs on components of power distribution systems. The work requires use of equipment manuals, web-based research, hand tools, pneumatic tools, and any specialized tooling provided by Wysocki.
  • Orders parts as needed with approval of the shop manager.
  • Proactively trouble shoots equipment to prevent safety hazards or breakdowns in the environment.
  • Disassembles and assembles components according to manufacturer's specifications.
  • Communicates regularly with team and supervisor to ensure efficient operations.
  • Performs DOT maintenance inspections.
  • Uses tools within the scope of their safe intended use. Examples of equipment and tools (but not limited to) tractors, harvester, skid steer, sprayer, backhoe, bulldozer, bulk truck, forklift, chainsaw, pneumatic tools, etc Diagnoses equipment using tools such as but not limited to scanners, gauges and instruments.
  • Maintains accurate and timely data in the maintenance software system including opening, completing all fields required and properly saving and closing work orders to track work completed on each piece of equipment.
  • Ensures cleanliness of shop and work area to eliminate reduce any safety hazards.
  • Adheres to all safety and general company policies and procedures and informs supervisors about concerns such as but not limited to faulty equipment design, and unsafe working conditions.
  • Maintains a strong knowledge base on the safe and efficient use of agricultural equipment, agricultural technology and agronomic application best practices.
