About The Position

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. • Performs maintenance work throughout the plant in order to repair production machines, fabricate parts, and rebuild equipment. Diagnoses and troubleshoots equipment problems. Dismantles, repairs and reassembles complex equipment. • Operates production equipment to check work, as required. Cleans and lubricates equipment. • As needed, performs work in other areas such as building maintenance which includes but is not limited to: landscaping, snow removal, parking lot, sidewalks, traffic signs, monument sign, roof, roof screen, office, HVAC equipment, exterior windows, precast panels and other equipment installed on the exterior of the building. • Maintains and repairs office areas and assists with janitorial work as needed, including but not limited to: cleaning, office waste, recycling removal, lavatory and lunchroom supplies and installation. • Assists General Manager and Bloomingdale Engineering team in installation of new equipment. Works from drawings, verbal instructions and/or sketches. • Completes routine paperwork as required. Initiates purchase order request forms for parts and supplies. • Complies with safety and GMP requirements. SAFETY RESPONSIBILITY STATEMENT Supports a culture of safe production and operations; follows all safety rules and procedures. Actively participates in the safety program by: engaging in training activities to learn what constitutes a safety hazard; reporting safety concerns to the supervisor, submitting safety suggestions, and correcting or reporting to the appropriate people when you see a workplace health or safety hazard, until it is resolved. Assists with communicating safety information to new employees. Fulfills responsibilities as outlined in the company safety management plan.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree (A. A.) or two to five years related experience and/or training (electrical, machine shop, machine troubleshooting, pneumatics, hydraulics, OSHA standards, lock-out/tag-out, etc.); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • General knowledge of electric, welding and machine shop required.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to communicate effectively to coworkers and supervisors.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Good problem solving skills.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Nice To Haves

  • Food or pharmaceutical industry experience preferred.
