Surround yourself with people who care about making a difference – come join us! We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Maintenance Mechanic I to join the Plant Operations department. The Maintenance Mechanic I will be responsible making repairs in all trade disciplines, moves furniture and other related equipment as required, assists groundskeepers, works on snow removal operation and completes other tasks as assigned. Demonstrates an understanding of, and embraces, the mission statement of Christian Health.

Requirements

  • 3+years experience as a Maintenance Technician I and demonstrates proficiency in 3 construction trades.
  • Experience with HVAC equipment, electrical, and plumbing required.
  • Valid New Jersey Drivers License.
  • Must have basic computer skills.
  • Demonstrates compliance with the CH ASPIRE Standards of Performance.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

  • Operates and maintains physical plant equipment (i.e.: boilers, etc.) and has a working knowledge of the Center's energy management system.
  • Makes repairs on systems on all trade disciplines (i.e.: tearing down boilers, pumps).
  • Accurately estimate and order materials.
  • Reports safety deficiencies to Supervisor or Managers.
  • Plans and lays out projects as requested.
  • Assists groundskeepers.
  • Works on snow removal operations.
  • Conducts electrical and refrigeration system checks.
  • Conducts rounds. (i.e.: walking or driving).
  • Utilizes computer to receive work requests as well as e-mails.
  • Moves furniture and other related equipment between buildings on campus.
  • Makes electric, plumbing, HVAC and carpentry repairs.
