Position Summary Performs maintenance and repair of building facilities. Must perform tasks that span many trades, including, but not limited to: electrical, mechanical, painting, and plumbing. Must be willing to work overtime as the requirement may rise. Is subject to being recalled to the campus for “after hours” work. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Independently determines the need and performs basic repairs, service and related work on mechanical, plumbing and electrical equipment. 2. Performs scheduled and unscheduled preventive maintenance and adjustments of selected equipment and fixtures as well as operational testing and verification to specific standards. 3. Performs building maintenance tasks, applying an understanding of the University needs as well as the operational and safety limitations of building systems and equipment. 4. Uses various hand and yard tools & equipment to perform assigned tasks. Tests equipment periodically to analyze, evaluate and correct malfunctions with various systems, devices and/or instruments. 5. Completes work orders, equipment logs and other documentation 6. Maintains the work area in a neat, efficient and safe condition by cleaning up after each job and properly storing items and/or test equipment. Exhibits an awareness of safety requirements and practices in everyday tasks. 7. Other duties as assigned.
