About The Position

The Maintenance Mechanic II will perform routine equipment and facility repairs and service while complying with regulatory requirements and company standards. This role involves minimizing production downtime due to mechanical reasons through quick response, conducting preventative maintenance inspections, and developing mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills. The position requires the use of a variety of hand and portable tools, performing carpentry work as needed, and complying with safety procedures. Overtime may be required during peak seasons.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Well-rounded knowledge of the practices, tools, equipment, and materials used within the Maintenance Mechanic's trade.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as add, subtract, multiply and divide.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine repairs and service on equipment and facility.
  • Minimize production downtime due to mechanical reasons through quick response.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and procedures such as lubricating, cleaning, adjusting, etc.
  • Develop mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and repair skills with guidance.
  • Utilize a wide variety of hand and portable tools to perform assignments.
  • Assist in running services to new or relocated equipment (air, water, electrical).
  • Perform carpentry work as needed.
  • Learn packaging equipment setup and changeover including fine tuning and necessary adjustment.
  • Comply with the rules and regulations set forth in the employee handbook, safety manual, and GMP booklet.
  • Follow lockout/tag out safety procedures during service and repair.
  • Use personal protective equipment as required.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.
