About The Position

The position involves performing a variety of skilled tasks associated with various trades including carpentry, trowel trades, lighting, ceiling tile, and floor tile. The individual will utilize blueprints, schematics, drawings, layouts, or other specifications to complete various tasks which may include installing floor tile, carpet, ceiling tile, metal stud walls, hanging drywall, hanging window blinds, indoor/outdoor bleacher repair, and other general installation and repair work. The role requires the use of hand tools, testing and diagnostic equipment, and simple power tools and equipment as appropriate for the trade to complete assigned tasks. Additionally, the individual will be responsible for cleaning worksites, hauling debris and trash, cleaning tools and equipment, and ensuring tools, materials, and equipment are stored properly. Knowledge of tools and safety practices commonly used in various trades is essential, as well as determining proper methods, equipment, and materials to facilitate cost-effective repairs. Other duties may be assigned by the appropriate administrator.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Valid Georgia Driver License required.
• Eligible to acquire a CDL.
• Must be insurable by Fulton County School insurance carriers.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience required.
• Working knowledge of materials, methods, tools, and equipment of the general repair trade.
• Knowledge in the use of hand and power tools and large equipment attachments related to the trade.
• Skilled in the operation of tractors, backhoe, and skid loader, if applicable to the trade.
• Must be able to understand and follow directions both written and verbal.
• Must be able to work variable shifts.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes blueprints, schematics, drawings, layouts, or other specifications to complete various tasks.
• Installs floor tile, carpet, ceiling tile, metal stud walls, hangs drywall, and window blinds.
• Performs indoor/outdoor bleacher repair and other general installation and repair work.
• Utilizes hand tools, testing and diagnostic equipment, and simple power tools as appropriate.
• Cleans worksites including hauling debris and trash, cleaning tools and equipment.
• Ensures tools, materials, and equipment are stored properly.
• Demonstrates knowledge of tools and safety practices commonly used in various trades.
• Determines proper methods, equipment, and materials for cost-effective repairs.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the appropriate administrator.
