Requirements

  • High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • 1-2 years of related experience preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Basic hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and industrial skills.
  • Certification and/or formal training in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance highly desired.
  • Experience and previous training in Lock-out/Tag-out procedures.
  • Basic knowledge of mainframe computer systems and familiarity with Spreadsheet and Word Processing software.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence and effectively present information in small group situations.
  • Ability to read, interpret manufacturing drawings, blueprints, and written instructions.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of forklift operation and rig heavy equipment.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Performs work based on issued Work Orders, including scheduled preventive maintenance and unscheduled work (machine breakdowns).
  • Examines equipment and machinery, troubleshoots as necessary, and makes recommendations to Supervisor or Lead concerning corrective repairs.
  • Takes a proactive role in identifying malfunctions or repairs to ensure optimal safety and efficiency.
  • Always performs work with the utmost safety in mind; wears appropriate PPE and follows all safety rules.
  • Performs arc welding, gas welding, cutting, and brazing.
  • Uses a variety of tools to perform duties including voltage tester, ammeter, megger, hand tools, and power tools.
  • Assists in all areas of new construction and remodeling of the facility.
  • Operates powered industrial vehicles to move parts and machines.
  • Reports any safety violation, machining equipment misusage, and/or improperly performed work to supervisor or lead.
  • Follows all 5S department procedures including keeping floors clean, returning tools to proper locations, and performing other housekeeping duties.
  • Complies with rules and regulations set forth by Federal, Local, and State government, LISI Aerospace, and HSE Procedures.
  • Attends all training provided and adheres to all HSE procedures, policies, and plans.
  • Seeks opportunities to improve HSE performance by establishing objectives and targets.
  • May assist and/or suggest waste elimination initiatives related to the function and department.
  • Supports other general maintenance activities as assigned.
