PGCMLS is looking for a skilled Maintenance Mechanic with commercial experience. This position is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and diagnosing a variety of electrical and mechanical equipment, keeping operations running smoothly.
Repair electrical and mechanical equipment.
Handle plumbing, HVAC, and air compressor maintenance.
Clean air conditioning and filtration units.
Perform basic building tasks like snow removal and changing fluorescent lights.
Be on call for emergency maintenance and electrical issues.
Assist with furniture deliveries during library renovations.
Order parts, track shipments, and follow up with vendors.
Keep maintenance records for electrical and mechanical equipment.
Coordinate safety inspections and ensure work follows library safety policies.
Perform other duties as assigned.
High school diploma or GED required; vocational school graduate preferred.
Four years of experience working in commercial buildings or facilities.
Universal CFC/EPA certification is preferred.
Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and procedures.
Experience with computerized building automation systems.
Ability to operate machinery and power tools.
Strong organizational, problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills.
Able to work independently or in a team, and adapt to changing tasks.
Basic skills in Microsoft Word, Google Suite, email, and internet use.
