About The Position

JOBSUMMARY: Installs,maintains, and repairs machinery, tools, equipment, furnishing, fixtures,physical structures, and pipe and electrical systems using journeyman levelskills in all the various crafts required to complete the essential functionsof the job. DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS ANDRESPONSIBILITIES: Underperiodic supervision and review, does highly complex work using considerableinitiative and ingenuity by performing the following tasks. Other work relatedduties may be assigned as necessitated by Company priorities.

Requirements

Demonstrated ability toread and write English of a level required in Company shop documents andcomputer software entry and processing requirements as well as technical,installation and maintenance manuals.
Must be capable of applying mathematicaloperations using fractions, decimals, algebra and geometry as required byessential job duties.
Must be able to operate all machines tools and equipmentat a highly complex level as required by essential job duties.
Generally equivalent to journeyman trade school graduate or equivalent.
Requires3 -5 years at journeyman level or equivalent skills and knowledge expertise inphysical plant and industrial machine installations, maintenance and repairswhichever is necessary to fulfill job requirements.
Must have a workingknowledge of the National Electrical Code.
Must have knowledge of governmentrequired Building and Safety Codes as well as knowledge of construction methodsand techniques.
Must read precision measuring instruments such as variousgauges, meters, calipers and micrometers as well as wiring diagrams, machineschematics, blueprints and other documentation similar or comparable to thoseused by the Company.

Responsibilities

Visually inspects and tests machinery, tools and equipment to assure proper working condition.
Listens for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction and discusses machine operation variations with appropriate personnel to diagnose problem or repair machine.
Dismantles defective machines, tools and equipment and installs new or repaired parts.
Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
Installs and repairs electrical apparatus, such as transformers and wiring, and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment, as well as telephone and other communication lines or equipment.
Lays out, assembles, installs, and maintains pipe systems, including facility plumbing, and hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment.
Repairs and maintains physical structure and appearance of establishment.Includes the performance or oversight of cleaning, painting, repairing furniture or fixtures, moving or installing furniture or fixtures, disposal of trash, recyclables, hazardous material, etc.
Install, programs, or repairs automated machinery and equipment such as robots or programmable controllers.
Sets up and operates machine tools such as lathe, grinder, drill, milling machine, etc. to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs and fixtures, and tools.

Operates cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
Fabricates and repairs counters, benches, partitions, and other structures which may be wood, drywall, metal, glass or other construction material.
Licensed and capable of operating a motor vehicle. Skilled to drive and operate a forklift.
Works as an active team member by participating in problem solving, team building, and all other team activities to improve the processes, productivity, quality, etc. of the department and the company. Uses interpersonal skills as well as good written and verbal communications. Performs any training of other employees in maintenance and repair functions as required. Assists other Company personnel as required.
