About The Position

The Maintenance Mechanic position at Magna Electronics involves maintaining production and quality by ensuring the operation of machinery and mechanical equipment. This role is crucial for the smooth functioning of production processes, focusing on preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of various mechanical systems.

Requirements

• Journeyman's certification - Required
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• 6+ years of industrial equipment maintenance experience - Preferred
• Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical, PLCs, and PCs - Preferred

Responsibilities

• Completes preventative maintenance to ensure the operation of machinery and mechanical equipment.
• Identifies sources of problems by observing machinery in operation and using testing equipment.
• Examines parts for defects and removes defective parts by dismantling devices using hoists, hand tools, and power tools.
• Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts and using measuring devices.
• Adjusts functional parts of devices and controls instruments using hand tools and levels.
• Repairs or replaces broken or malfunctioning parts of mechanical equipment.
• Fabrics repair parts using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
• Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock levels and anticipating needs.
• Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
