Maintenance & Construction (M&C) is responsible for general maintenance, repair, and renovations of all University of Washington (UW) main campus facilities including building interiors, exteriors, and grounds, as well as logistics, moving, and disposal of surplus equipment and furniture. Position Purpose Under the direction of the supervisor and lead, perform skilled work in the operation, maintenance, repair, remodeling and construction of buildings, grounds, machinery, facilities, and equipment. Work involves repair, installation and maintenance of physical facilities requiring skilled mechanical and trades work. A good working knowledge of several related skill fields such as electrical, plumbing, carpentry, welding and machinist work. Work independently in troubleshooting and completing routine corrective and preventive maintenance assignments. Repair of buildings, facilities and equipment such as windows, window blinds and screens, doors, patching and painting of interior spaces, minor plumbing repair, masonry repair, shelving removal and installation, carpentry repairs, replace ceiling tiles, laminate repairs. Perform preventative maintenance on mechanical equipment.
