About The Position

The Maintenance Technician sets up, monitors, and repairs machines in the production area to ensure efficient operation of the business. CNH Benson plant is looking for a 1st shift Maintenance Mechanic. Scheduled work time 6:00am-4:00pm Monday-Thursday.

Requirements

  • Two year technical degree in a maintenance related field or five years or more of equivalent work experience in a similar working environment.
  • Working knowledge to maintain, repair, and service powered industrial vehicles.
  • Ability to work with electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, and pneumatic devices.
  • Ability to fit and assemble repair parts to obtain proper operation of equipment and machines.
  • Ability to use simple machine tools, various hand tools, and portable power tools.
  • Understanding and use of drawings, shop mathematics, and engineering specifications.
  • Ability and willingness to learn computer software to track work orders and maintenance schedule.
  • Knowledge of DOT certification requirements and OSHA safety rules.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all safety and quality requirements/procedures while working with moderate independence.
  • Perform functions requiring working knowledge of electrical test equipment such as a volt-meter.
  • Maintain and record service on PIV (Powered Industrial Vehicles), Electric Tuggers, Battery, Diesel, and Propane forklifts, Man lifts, Payloader, skid steers, tractors, and road vehicles and trailers.
  • Perform scheduled PM tasks on equipment (Filter, fluids, lubrications, belt replacements, also timing chain replacements).
  • Troubleshoot issues reported in work requests for breakdowns of PIVs. Perform repairs or schedule service from outside technicians.
  • Understanding of hydraulic systems.
  • Have road vehicles DOT compliant, schedule and record DOT inspections.
  • Understanding hydraulic and electrical schematics.
  • Operate heavy equipment as necessary.
  • Perform other related or similar duties as required such as use of a computer to track work orders and maintenance schedule.
  • Participate in WCM related activities including Emergency Work Orders (EWO) and Root Cause Analysis.
