About The Position

Lakeside Book is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to join our friendly team in the dynamic warehousing industry. As a Maintenance Mechanic, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring that all equipment and machinery are running properly. You will be solving problems, repairing equipment, and performing preventative maintenance on a variety of systems and equipment within our warehouses. Whether it’s helping to keep our conveyor systems running or ensuring that our climate control systems function flawlessly, you'll work closely with a supportive team that values collaboration and communication. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in mechanics is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a maintenance mechanic or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems - such as, conveyor systems and components, Shanklin wrappers, pallet stretch wrappers.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to learn.
  • Ability to stand, walk, lift, stoop, bend, and twist throughout an 8 to 10 hours shift.
  • Ability to work in a non-climate controlled environment.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of warehouse equipment and machinery.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks to minimize downtime.
  • Respond swiftly to maintenance requests from team members and management.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance activities.
  • Collaborate with team members to improve maintenance processes and equipment performance.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
