The position involves overseeing, planning, and issuing work orders to appropriate shift team members for the implementation of equipment modifications, as well as preventative and corrective maintenance. The role requires close collaboration with manufacturing departments to ensure that production equipment is consistently maintained and that all preventative maintenance (PM) schedules are met in a timely manner. The individual will prepare and coordinate maintenance resources and provide recommendations for capital and continuous improvement projects. Additionally, the position entails reviewing the operation of equipment with appropriate personnel to identify maintenance issues in the areas of Safety, Quality, Cost, Productivity, and Customer Satisfaction. The goal is to track and improve machine downtime and increase machine reliability to support manufacturing in meeting customer demand. Compliance with all health and safety policies is essential, ensuring that all equipment is properly safeguarded. The role also involves developing and implementing maintenance procedures that are trackable and accountable to ensure maximum efficiency of the maintenance department. Managing relationships with contractors and service providers is a key responsibility, as is tracking, analyzing, and improving the Maintenance department's KPIs. The individual will review the location's Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis to make recommendations for improving plant operations, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), and maintenance problem resolution. Engaging employees in problem resolution to improve production issues and efficiencies utilizing Lean Manufacturing techniques is expected. The position fosters a positive working environment and drives the Maintenance team to meet set productivity targets and performance standards. Monthly monitoring and reviewing of the Maintenance budget, preparing and implementing annual budgets, and ensuring compliance with various governmental agencies are also part of the role. The individual will drive cost savings through equipment repairs, upgrades, improved PMs, and decreased cycle time. Ensuring that Maintenance employees are properly trained in all aspects of their jobs, identifying training gaps, and developing training plans as needed are crucial tasks. The role also includes maintaining facility compliance with all municipal, state/provincial, and federal fire and safety codes, including the testing and inspections of the fire protection system. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
