This role is responsible for ensuring maximum reliability, availability, and efficiency of advanced gas turbine, HRSG, and steam turbine systems in a fast-paced, grid-responsive operating environment. It offers the ability to drive best-in-class maintenance strategies, strengthen a high-performing technical team, and directly influence plant performance and long-term asset value.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or equivalent is desired, providing a strong foundation for understanding the technical aspects of power plant operations and management. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of education.
  • Extensive leadership experience in power plant maintenance and operations, with a proven track record managing complex combined-cycle generating assets, systems, and maintenance programs.
  • Strong technical expertise in power plant equipment and systems, including gas turbines, steam turbines, generators, HRSGs, and balance-of-plant systems, with the ability to diagnose failures and improve reliability and performance.
  • Proven experience developing and managing maintenance programs incorporating preventive, predictive, and corrective strategies, with emphasis on combustion turbine and combined-cycle operations.
  • Experience using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) methodologies to manage asset performance, schedule work, and support long-term reliability.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management skills, with the ability to direct maintenance personnel, prioritize work, and maintain a safe, accountable, and high-performance environment.
  • Strong understanding of safety regulations, industry standards, and compliance requirements, with a consistent record of promoting a strong safety culture.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes of equipment failures and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively with Operations, Engineering, contractors, OEMs, and external stakeholders.
  • Must possess a valid, unrestricted U.S. driver’s license and ensure it remains in good standing at all times.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the plant maintenance function, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operation of combined-cycle equipment, including GE Frame 7HA.02 gas turbines, HRSGs, and steam turbines, while managing personnel, programs, projects, and compliance.
  • Supervise maintenance personnel to ensure corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with OEM recommendations, station procedures, and the maintenance management system.
  • Support workforce development through recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and training to maintain a skilled maintenance team capable of supporting advanced combined-cycle operations and high-availability dispatch requirements.
  • Promote and sustain a strong safety culture by ensuring compliance with plant safety programs, supporting hazard recognition initiatives, and maintaining adherence to the station Safety Manual and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs to maximize reliability and availability of combustion turbines, steam turbines, HRSGs, balance-of-plant systems, and auxiliary equipment.
  • Analyze equipment performance, reliability data, and failure trends (including vibration, thermodynamic performance, and condition monitoring outputs) to drive corrective actions and improve reliability while reducing forced outages.
  • Serve as project manager for maintenance and capital projects, coordinating schedules, resources, OEM/vendor support (including GE and specialty contractors), and technical execution to ensure safe, timely completion.
  • Develop and manage contracts, scopes of work, budgets, and schedules for maintenance services, outage support, and specialty repair work, ensuring cost control and performance compliance.
  • Prepare work packages, job plans, and scheduling inputs for planned outages, forced outages, and major maintenance events, including hot gas path, combustion, and HRSG inspections.
  • Ensure required parts, tooling, OEM spares, and contractor services are staged and available to support outage execution and emergent maintenance work.
  • Review, validate, and maintain CMMS work orders, ensuring accurate failure coding, job history, and equipment performance tracking for reliability analysis.
  • Administer the Management of Change (MOC) process to ensure equipment, control system, and procedural changes are properly evaluated, documented, and implemented with engineering and operations.
  • Continuously evaluate maintenance strategies, procedures, and schedules to improve plant availability, cycling performance, start reliability, and heat rate efficiency.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, and NERC compliance to ensure maintenance activities support grid reliability, dispatch readiness, and ISO/PJM regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain maintenance documentation, vendor records, inventory systems, and warehouse readiness while supporting long-range asset planning, OEM compliance, and stakeholder/community engagement.
  • Complete special projects as assigned by the Plant Manager.

Benefits

  • This position offers an annual base salary ranging from $170,000 to $185,000 and includes eligibility for an annual performance bonus.
