About The Position

AHF Products has a job opportunity for a Maintenance Manager to be located in Kankakee, IL. $120,000 - $140,000, exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Maintenance Manager provides strategic direction, hands‑on leadership, and on‑call support to minimize downtime, ensure regulatory compliance, and support uninterrupted business operations at all times, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience managing a maintenance function within a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated results developing and growing a team.
  • Knowledge of precision, preventive, and predictive maintenance processes (vibration analysis, thermal imaging, laser alignment)
  • Skills with process improvement techniques and tools.
  • CMMS experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to form and develop effective relationships at all organizational levels
  • Must be able to successfully complete and pass a background check, employment verification and drug screening
  • Positive and Verifiable Work History
  • Must follow safety guidelines and wear applicable safety equipment, e.g., safety glasses, side shields, approved safety shoes, and other PPE as needed

Responsibilities

  • Be a role model for safety. Promote a zero-injury safety culture and find ways to continuously improve safety culture in the workplace.
  • Actively engage with the plant leadership team in support of the company and plants strategic initiatives including enhancement, ongoing implementation and general oversight of effective maintenance systems that ensure all manufacturing equipment performs to its maximum capacity at lowest cost.
  • Provide effective leadership and supervision of the maintenance exempt and hourly workforce, including performance management (recognition and accountability), communication, and employee relations to drive up-time, reliability and yield performance across the site.
  • Develop the maintenance staff and technicians to strengthen leadership, technical, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Manage and lead the ongoing training of the maintenance team to ensure the right skills are maintained and continue to evolve with changing technology.
  • Manage the maintenance budget and monthly spend in close collaboration with the leadership team.
  • Support line operations to achieve key performance measures (ex: Sq ft/hr, quality, cost, downtime, and scrap).
  • Support plant safety and environmental goals through established programs and procedures (touch audits, safety corrective actions/preventative actions, incident investigations, ergonomic program, safety training, etc.)
  • Drive adherence to all OSHA regulations including but not limited to: Lock Out, Tag Out; Hot Work; Elevated Work; Confined Space, etc.
  • Responsible for identifying and implementing process improvements to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the maintenance department.
  • Identify safety issues in the workplace and assume responsibility to take immediate action to correct or immediately escalate to appropriate level for resolution.
  • Maintain property, plant, and equipment to support and improve the safe production and performance of the operations.
  • Partner with the engineering and operations team for the planning and execution of capital projects.
