About The Position

Position Description: Responsible for safety, training, motivating and managing of the maintenance department to ensure mechanical and electrical systems support the manufacturing of high quality products in a safe environment.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Maintenance Manager in the plastics industry
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering preferred.
  • Excellent organization, priority-setting, and delegation skills.
  • Excellent leadership skills, and the ability to train and motivate direct reports.
  • Troubleshooting and root cause analysis skill sets for diagnosing and correcting electrical or mechanical issues.
  • PLC and automation controls troubleshooting and programming strongly preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail oriented.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Maintenance Technicians and Engineers by organizing and assigning maintenance functions in order to ensure safe and high-quality production.
  • Drive safety corrective actions to completion.
  • Audit and ensure parts room inventory accuracy.
  • Control costs in the areas of quality, downtime, parts utilization, contractor/vendor services, etc.
  • Follow up on new equipment installations and the day-to-day maintenance of existing equipment.
  • Assess maintenance department’s technical and safety training needs.
  • Review and evaluate the preventative maintenance program, and audit first article start up failures, to continuously improve program effectiveness.
  • Lead/interact in team meetings.
  • Monitor and follow-up on End of Shift Reports, work orders, parts requisitions, Technician ISO checklists, etc. to track work completion.
  • Responsible for ensuring ISO, OSHA, and GMP standards within the department.
  • Member of the Continuous Improvement Team and Safety Team.
  • Owns and drives energy savings projects.
  • Schedule Associates in KRONOS and review time records.
  • Other duties as assigned.
