About The Position

ERCO Worldwide is looking for a Maintenance Manager to join our Port Edwards team! The Maintenance Manager sets the direction and oversees all activities related to plant maintenance (from strategy development through to implementation, execution and evaluation) while driving alignment with the corporate strategic direction and established systems and directives. Delivering on a broad range of responsibilities, the Maintenance Manager must balance an ability to draw on well-established general management capabilities with a willingness to get directly involved in the operations (applying specialty/technical skills) as required. Supports the Plant Manager in communications with regulatory bodies, suppliers and contractors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field is required.
  • Knowledge of Responsible Care Codes and Practises, OSHA PSM regulations (especially Mechanical Integrity), Applicable Industry Codes (ie. pressure vessels), Incident Investigation, Problem Solving, Contracts and Service Agreements, Business Platforms (JDE E-One > CMMS>Purchasing, Dayforce, Coupa, SharePoint, Microsoft Office Suite, KMS/MOC) is required.
  • 6-10 years of experience in Plant Operations and Maintenance Management, Budgeting/Cost Management, Safety and Environmental Leadership, Dealing with Government Inspectors/Regulators, Supplier Contacts.
  • Proven track record of 5+ years’ plant operations/maintenance experience in a leadership role in the manufacturing arena coupled with team leadership experience.
  • Strong analytical skills (i.e., process, equipment and technical data, incident/process investigation) to help in decision-making and judgments.
  • Financial abilities; including budgets.
  • Successful background in recruiting and developing teams.
  • Ability to maintain a continuous focus on critical factors pertaining to effective operations (i.e., ethical practices, safety, Responsible Care, environmental factors etc.).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a chemical manufacturing environment is considered an asset.
  • Related experience in vendor/contractor negotiations is an asset
  • Well developed skills as a trainer would be an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and implement reliability opportunities to optimize equipment and maintenance costs while minimizing downtime (i.e., production losses, efficiency, cost and spare parts inventory).
  • Manage maintenance and capital budgets, production outage planning, Mechanical Integrity program.
  • Manage team performance, including development and implementation of key people initiatives (i.e., training, talent development, skills planning, organization design, hiring/on-boarding, succession management etc.)
  • Review key measures on a regular basis in order ensure production and on-stream expectations are met.
  • Monitor relevant regulations to ensure compliance in areas such as ethical practices, employee and process safety, contractor safety, environment etc.
