About The Position

The Maintenance Manager provides leadership and strategic oversight for all maintenance activities at the Lime Plant, including preventive maintenance and reliability improvements, facility improvements, and capital projects. This role is responsible for building and leading a strong maintenance team, ensuring a proactive safety culture, driving operational reliability, and supporting cost-effective maintenance practices. The Maintenance Manager partners closely with plant and company leadership to ensure maintenance systems, processes, and teams are positioned for long-term operational continuity and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

  • Proven ability to lead and manage maintenance teams in an industrial or heavy manufacturing environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex issues and implement practical solutions.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, diagrams, schedules, and written and verbal instructions.
  • Demonstrated experience with AutoCAD or similar programs.
  • Effective communication, coaching, and leadership skills.
  • Minimum 5 years’ of direct and applicable hands-on maintenance experience with demonstrated supervisory experience.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to meet the company motor vehicle insurability standards.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen & physical.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee all maintenance operations, including preventive maintenance, equipment reliability, facility upgrades, and capital projects, ensuring work is planned, prioritized, and executed safely and efficiently. Partner with the Plant Manager and Leadership Team to align maintenance strategy with operational goals and production demands.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and direction to maintenance supervisors, leads, and team members by setting clear expectations, reinforcing accountability, and building a strong safety-focused culture. Participate in hiring, onboarding, performance management, discipline, and union grievance processes in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement.
  • Ensure effective planning and scheduling of maintenance activities to minimize unplanned downtime and equipment failures. Drive continuous improvement through root cause analysis, reliability initiatives, and ongoing evaluation of maintenance practices, procedures, and standards. Develop, maintain, and continuously improve preventive maintenance programs, inspections, schedules, and documentation.
  • Collaborate with leadership on maintenance budgeting, cost control, and capital planning while ensuring the availability and proper management of critical spare parts, materials, contractors, vendors, and suppliers. Balance cost-effectiveness with operational reliability and safety requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety rules, MSHA regulations, and applicable regulatory requirements. Lead or support safety meetings, incident investigations, and corrective action implementation, ensuring safety issues are promptly and appropriately addressed.
  • Support operational continuity by ensuring maintenance systems, processes, documentation, and team capability are sustainable and transferable. Work collaboratively with leadership to support knowledge sharing, documentation, and team readiness.
