About The Position

As a Maintenance Manager at Wheatland Tube Zekelman Industries , you will play a key role in leading maintenance operations to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant performance. This position focuses on supervising maintenance personnel, driving equipment reliability, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives that minimize downtime and control costs. You will collaborate closely with Maintenance and Operations teams to plan, schedule, and execute maintenance activities while ensuring compliance with safety, quality, labor agreements, and all applicable state and federal regulations. This is a full-time, onsite role located in Wheatland, PA. role is ideal for someone who thrives in a manufacturing environment, demonstrates strong leadership and technical problem-solving skills, and is committed to maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and operational excellence.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in industrial or manufacturing maintenance, preferably in a steel or tube manufacturing environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field preferred, or equivalent technical experience.
  • Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication, and team development skills.
  • Ability to manage budgets, prioritize work, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ability to work full-time onsite with regular, predictable attendance.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and direct daily maintenance activities through effective scheduling, planning, and coaching of maintenance staff.
  • Develop, implement, and administer maintenance programs while ensuring compliance with safety, quality, trade, management procedures, plant standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Enforce adherence to established safety regulations, legal requirements, quality standards, and labor agreements for all maintenance work performed.
  • Collaborate with Maintenance and Operations teams to identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives that reduce downtime and improve production efficiency.
  • Ensure preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance practices support equipment reliability while reducing overall maintenance costs.
  • Assign work to appropriate personnel by providing clear, accurate, and timely instructions with defined expectations for completion.
  • Manage repair and maintenance and manpower costs in alignment with budget objectives and identify opportunities for cost improvement.
  • Identify departmental training needs and coordinate training activities to support skill development and operational effectiveness.
  • Lead the identification of capital investment needs and support the timely execution of approved projects.
  • Provide technical guidance and assistance during equipment breakdowns to restore production safely and efficiently.
  • Determine material requirements, initiate requisitions, coordinate with Purchasing, and ensure materials are available at the job site.
  • Monitor team performance and effectiveness through workmanship audits and constructive feedback.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, develop goal-setting plans, and administer discipline as needed.
  • Lead and promote healthy and safe work practices as required by regulatory agencies and Company policy.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
