About The Position

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading the development, planning, and execution of maintenance programs that ensure the efficient operation of all plant equipment, building systems, grounds, and production processes. This role ensures optimal functionality, reliability, and safety across the facility.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or equivalent experience with strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Minimum of five years of management experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably within the breaded/battered protein industry.
  • Experience working with ammonia, refrigeration systems, and protein-processing equipment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on understanding of electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to adapt to shifting priorities and changing operational needs.
  • Strong multitasking abilities with skill in managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Effective problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and quickly resolve issues.
  • Self-motivated, collaborative, and able to work effectively with personnel at all levels inside and outside the plant.
  • Basic understanding of refrigeration principles and applications.
  • Proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Familiarity with CAD capabilities and PLC-based equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Design and revise plant processing line layouts to support operational changes, expansions, or new production requirements.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of plant construction, additions, and modifications.
  • Ensure full compliance with all safety, regulatory, and OSHA standards. Maintain and enforce all safety policies and procedures at all times.
  • Provide the Engineering Department with the tools, resources, training, and knowledge required to maintain the facility effectively and sustainably.
  • Develop, manage, and oversee capital and expense budget projects.
  • Build and maintain productive partnerships with external contractors and vendors to ensure projects and service work are completed efficiently.
  • Address day-to-day facility and equipment issues promptly and constructively. Maintain open communication with senior leadership and collaborate closely with other departments.
  • Lead, supervise, and develop maintenance and engineering staff to ensure cohesive operations across the facility.
