The Maintenance Manager manages, directs, coordinates, and participates in activities with workers and contractors engaged in setting up, installing, repairing, and maintaining machinery, equipment, building, technology and supplies for assigned locations. Adheres to regulatory standards and policies to ensure the safety and health of our employees as well as provide guidance on regulatory compliance matters. Travels to each facility as necessary.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Knowledge of and experience in facilities management, security, and yard operations.
  • Experience developing and implementing inspection/compliance reporting tools.
  • Knowledge of utilities including but not limited to Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC, Material Handling Equipment.
  • Continuous improvement mindset.

Nice To Haves

  • 3 years of experience managing property maintenance or construction experience
  • Prior experience in wholesale distribution
  • Forklift certification

Responsibilities

  • Manages, directs, and oversee workers in electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment. Assists workers and participates in diagnosing and fixing malfunctions in machinery and equipment. Manages and assists workers engaged in dismantling, assembling, and installing industrial machinery to include disposal of refuse.
  • Collaborate with Penske on safety program in partnership with Senior Director Operations and other supporting departments to ensure all safety records are maintained and operation is OSHA compliant.
  • Manages vendor contracts and obtains bids regularly to drive savings and quality.
  • Manages asset list and evaluates assets including MHE, racking, supplies, and increases or decreases spend according to season and/or need to drive efficiency.
  • Responsible for facilities budget and continuous improvement driving out cost. On-call to assist in any maintenance or facility issues. Manages all maintenance requests for all assigned buildings and grounds. Manages inventory and supply of spare parts and materials within budget.
  • Responsible for conveyor system and including preventative maintenance, cleanliness, and mechanical integrity. Responsible for Racking condition and repair.
  • Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers, and assigns duties. Maintains accurate reporting of all chemicals, storage, documentation and SDS. Insures proper training and certifications are maintained for employees working on any/all facility systems.
  • Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules. Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product distribution.
  • Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, and/or work crew. Inspect the facility including, parking lots, common areas, roof, walkways and equipment for the care of the facilities. Performs other related duties as assigned.
