About The Position

The Maintenance Manager ensures day-to-day operational capability for manufacturing process equipment and facility maintenance while driving a planned and strategic approach to proactive maintenance and upgrades. This role supports evolving business demands and aligns with our lean culture of single-piece flow, ensuring reliability, efficiency, and continuous improvement across all maintenance activities. The Maintenance Manager leads a multi-skilled team split into two shifts across two buildings, balancing time between maintaining operational capability, solving unplanned problems, executing improvement projects, and scheduled maintenance. The role also supports facility infrastructure systems, including electrical power, compressed air, and other building utilities critical to operations.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent degree and/or equivalent working experience.
  • 5+ years of management/supervisory experience in a maintenance and or facilities role.
  • 5+ years minimum of skilled trades work in a manufacturing environment
  • PC literate with strong Excel, Word and PowerPoint Skills
  • Proficient in multiple technical disciplines, analytics, and assurance techniques
  • Must have the ability to lead, motivate, and develop personnel, particularly with project and cross-functional teams
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, procedures manual, and to comprehend basic instructions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with supervisor, lead, co-workers and other personnel.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak fluent English.
  • Experience with plumbing, pipe fitting, welding & fabrication, and electrical.
  • Intermediate math skills are needed to include the ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions, to practical situations.
  • Must be able to measure using the metric system.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Forklift and airlift experience.
  • Hands-On Leadership: Ability to step in and resolve issues when the team cannot, ensuring operational stability and production continuity.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results under pressure.
  • Practical problem-solving approach with ownership mindset.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s preferred.
  • 7+ years of maintenance management or supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Skilled in troubleshooting manufacturing process equipment (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic systems).
  • Proficient in CMMS and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Bachelor’s in Engineering.
  • Experience in TPM systems and lean manufacturing environments.
  • Experience of working in a lean manufacturing environment with single piece flow manufacture and culture of continuous improvement through Kaizen
  • Knowledge of plumbing, pipe fitting, welding, fabrication, medium pressure steam equipment, and electrical systems.
  • Forklift and aerial lift experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Operational Readiness: Maintain manufacturing process equipment and facility systems to ensure uninterrupted production and operational capability across both buildings and shifts.
  • Strategic Maintenance Planning: Develop and execute proactive maintenance strategies and upgrade plans to meet future business needs and lean manufacturing principles.
  • Lead a Multi-Skilled Team: Manage and develop a diverse team of technicians with expertise in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and fabrication disciplines, split across two shifts.
  • Manage MRO Budget and Area: Control Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) inventory and associated budget.
  • Total Productive Maintenance (TPM): Develop and maintain TPM processes in both manual and electronic formats for consistency and compliance; drive an operator maintenance culture through autonomous maintenance, engaging production teams in routine care and inspections; sustain TPM pillars to maximize equipment effectiveness and reduce downtime.
  • Facility Infrastructure Support: Oversee maintenance and reliability of power distribution, compressed air systems, high pressure steam heating, and other building utilities to ensure continuous operation.
  • Equipment Installation & Relocation: Oversee installation of new manufacturing process equipment and relocation of existing assets to support production flow.
  • Contractor Coordination: Manage external contractors for specialized maintenance and facility projects.
  • Energy Efficiency: Identify and implement energy-saving initiatives aligned with sustainability goals.
  • Utility Tracking: Monitor and report utility usage to corporate as required.
  • Continuous Improvement: Participate in Tier Meetings and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support best practices and lean initiatives.
  • Ensure alignment of processes, spare parts & Kaizen activities with other TW facilities to leverage capability and resources a needed to meet business OKR’s
